When you register and use Bizz Credit, we collect the following categories of information:
- Personal Identity: Full name, gender, date of birth, government-issued identification details.
- Contact Information: Email address, phone number, and home address (which may be collected automatically via your device location with your consent).
- Financial Information: Bank account details, account number, bank name, loan history, repayment records, and transaction data.
- Employment Information: Profession and employment status provided during registration.
- Device & Technical Data: We do not collect device information; operating system, app usage data or IP address as we do not need them for our services.
- Emergency Contact: Name and phone number of your nominated emergency contact, provided when applying for a loan.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely for the purposes set out below:
- Account Creation & Verification: To create and verify your Bizz Credit account, including OTP verification via SMS and email.
- Loan Processing: To assess, approve, disburse, and manage your loan applications and repayment schedules.
- Payment Processing: To process loan disbursements and collect repayments through secure third-party payment providers (Paystack).
- Communications: To send you notifications about your loan status, repayment reminders, and important account updates via SMS, email, and in-app notifications.
- Fraud Prevention & Security: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity, unauthorised access, and security breaches.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable Nigerian laws and financial regulations, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) guidelines.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Payment Processors: We share necessary financial details with Paystack to process loan disbursements and repayments. Paystack operates under its own privacy policy.
- SMS Service Providers: We use BulkSMS Nigeria to deliver verification codes and notifications. Only your phone number and message content are shared.
- Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose your information to the CBN, EFCC, or other regulatory bodies when required by law or court order.
- Debt Recovery: In the event of loan default, your information may be shared with our authorised debt recovery partners.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), password hashing, and secure server infrastructure. We restrict access to your personal data to authorised personnel only. While we take all reasonable steps to safeguard your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
5. Device Permissions
The Bizz Credit app may request the following device permissions:
- Location Access: Used only during registration to automatically populate your home address. You may deny this permission and enter your address manually.
- Contacts Access: Used only when you choose to pick an emergency contact from your phone contacts during a loan application. We do not sync or store your entire contact list.
- Internet Access: Required for all app features to function, including submitting applications and processing payments.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active and for a minimum of five (5) years after account closure or final loan repayment, as required by Nigerian financial regulations. After this period, your data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your Rights
Under Nigerian data protection law (NDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

8. Cookies & Tracking
The Bizz Credit mobile application does not use cookies. Our website may use essential cookies to ensure proper functionality. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies. Analytics, if used, are limited to aggregated, anonymous data.
9. Children's Privacy
Bizz Credit services are intended for individuals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete the account and associated data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the Bizz Credit app after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
